Frequently Asked Questions

What is Restorative Strength & Conditioning?Restorative Strength & Conditioning blends principles from both physical therapy and strength and conditioning- two fields often treated as separate silos, yet both exist along the same continuum. At one end of the spectrum is injury and dysfunction; on the other, elite performance. In between lies homeostasis, resilience, and the physical capacity to move through daily life with ease. Restorative Strength & Conditioning meets you wherever you are on that spectrum, with the goal of reconnecting you with the strength, confidence, and capability your body was built for. Long before treadmills and back pain, we were made to move- to squat, lift, carry, climb, and thrive. That potential hasn't disappeared. It's still there- waiting to be reawakened. You don't need to become an athlete. You already are one.

Where do appointments with Max take place? If you're located in the Greater Cleveland area, Max provides 1-hour in-home (or in-office) coaching sessions and brings all necessary equipment with him—no gym required. There’s no travel fee for clients within 10 miles of University Heights, OH. For those outside the Cleveland area or who prefer remote support, virtual coaching sessions are also available. Whether in person or online, you'll get the same thoughtful, personalized guidance to help you build strength, confidence, and independence.
-
What can I expect at my first appointment with Max?Your first session is all about understanding you. Max will take time to hear your story, learn about your goals, and identify the challenges that may be limiting your movement or independence. The session includes a thorough physical assessment to establish your current abilities and uncover your specific needs. From there, Max will begin crafting a customized Restorative Strength & Conditioning program designed to meet you where you are and move you steadily toward where you want to be.
-
How will my Restorative Strength & Conditioning program be structured? Each program is tailored to your individual needs, starting with a thorough assessment and followed by regular reassessments to track progress. Your program will be tailored to blend seamlessly with your daily life and schedule. We will continually assess and improve your exercise technique, and collaborate to ensure that your program is providing the most efficient route toward your goals. For those who are only moderately deconditioned, the program typically includes progressive phases lasting 1–4 weeks each. Each phase builds on the last—developing the strength, skills, and movement patterns needed to reach your goals and make undeniable progress by 30-90 days. If you're starting from a lower baseline, progress may take longer—but the focus remains the same: helping you improve physical function as efficiently and sustainably as possible.

What is included in a Nutrition Consultation with Esther?A Nutrition Consultation includes a 1-hour phone or video appointment with Esther, a registered dietitian. During the session, she’ll complete a thorough nutrition assessment and provide personalized recommendations based on your goals, health history, and current habits. You'll walk away with: A clear understanding of your nutritional needs Simple, realistic strategies to improve your eating habits Practical steps to overcome barriers that may be holding you back Whether your goals include boosting energy, improving digestion, managing chronic conditions, or supporting your strength and mobility, Esther will help you create a plan that fits your life. Restorative Strength & Conditioning coaching clients receive 25% off.
